The Moses Lake City Council has one vacancy on the Planning Commission. Qualified applicants must reside in the City or own property or a business within the City Limits. The purpose of the Planning Commission is to review and make recommendations to the Moses Lake City Council community development needs including: amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, amendments to the Zoning Code including changes to the official zoning map which are of general applicability, amendments to the subdivision and environmental codes, amendments to the shoreline master plan, development of affordable housing code and policy, and other actions requested or remanded by the City Council.
The Planning Commission is composed of five members appointed by a majority vote of the City Council without regard to political affiliation. The current vacancy will be for a full 6-year term scheduled to be considered to end or have reappointment December 31, 2027. Meetings are held on the Thursday following the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
