May Family Saturday: May Day Basket

Saturday, May 1, 2021

May Day is an ancient festival of spring held on May 1 of each year. The earliest known May celebrations were during Roman times, in celebration of Flora, the Roman Goddess of Flowers. Nowadays it is widely celebrated throughout Europe as a celebration of Spring. Since the late 20th century, it has become traditional to leave baskets of flowers on your neighbor’s doorsteps, adding a little brightness to their today. We will be making May Day Baskets out of paper. This project may be “to-go” dependent on Covid-19 mandates.
