Please join us for coffee, tea, and bagels as we learn to save history! The August presentation will focus on the Moses Lake Museum's flagship accession, the Adam East stone tool collection! Examples from this lithic assemblage, including projectile points, mortars, pestles, net weights, etc. will be passed around for show and tell. Special guest and flintknapper Martin Schempp will be on hand to demonstrate how some stone tools were made. In addition, the Curator will give a tour of the Collection Room and share the dos and do nots of collecting archaeological material.

The October presentation will continue the discussion of preserving ephemera, items such as matchbook covers, greeting cards, theater programs, postcards, cancelled checks, etc. that were meant to be thrown away after one use but actually expand on the history of Moses Lake. New examples from the collection will be shared! In addition, the Collections Curator will give a tour of the Collection Room.
