Certain home-based businesses, also known as home occupations, are allowed in all residential zones in Moses Lake "to permit residents of the community a reasonable use of their residence as a place of livelihood and/or for supplementing of personal/family income" (Moses Lake Municipal Code 18.55 (PDF)). The licensing process for a home occupation may include notifying the adjacent neighbors of the proposed business.

Bed and Breakfast Facility
Licensed Massage Therapist
Professional Service Provider
Electronic Equipment Repair
Small Engine Repair
Taxi Business with more than one vehicle
Must be carried on within the residence by the occupants.
Must be clearly incidental to the use of the residence as a dwelling.
Must not change the residential character of the dwelling.
Must not give the outward appearance of a business.
Must not infringe on the right of the neighboring residents to enjoy a peaceful occupancy of their homes.
