The Moses Lake Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department maintains and operates over 180 acres of parks and facilities, including the Surf ’n Slide Water Park, Cascade Campground, Larson Playfield, Lauzier Athletic Complex, Kvamme Soccer Complex and the Larson Recreation Center. We also provide year-round recreational experiences including: sports programs, cultural programs, educational classes, and tournaments for our citizens and visitors. Here is a listing of seasonal positions in which we hire: 

Surf 'n Slide Water Park

Lifeguard, Groundskeeper and Cashier positions for the water park.

Field/Facility Supervisor

Minimum age 18 Job duties change according to the program being supervised. Duties may include: setting up equipment, checking teams/players in, maintaining a safe environment and friendly atmosphere, maintaining and submitting score sheets, clean up and basic first aid.

Ice Rink/Roller Rink Supervisor 

Minimum age 18 Responsible for operations of the seasonal activity. Must be able to skate, maintain a safe environment, work cash register and clean the facility.

Rink Guard 

Minimum age 16 Job duties include skating (roller/ice), maintaining a safe environment, work a cash register and clean the facility.

Recreation Assistant

Minimum age 18 Assist with recreational programming and office duties.

Park Grounds

Minimum age 16 Assist with general park maintenance of facilities, buildings and grounds by performing tasks such as: weed control, custodial work, litter and garbage removal, and athletic field maintenance.

Park Maintenance

Minimum age 18 and Valid Driver’s License Assist with general park maintenance of facilities, buildings and grounds by performing tasks such as: operate power equipment and power tools, facility repairs, landscape maintenance, park development, custodial work, painting, snow removal and special events preparation.

Ballfield Maintenance

Minimum age 18 and Valid Driver’s License Assist with general park maintenance of facilities, buildings and grounds by performing tasks such as: field preparation, irrigation, repairs, custodial work, litter and garbage removal, operate power equipment, power tools and utility vehicles.

Custodial Maintenance 

Minimum age 18 and Valid Driver’s License Assist with general park maintenance of facilities, buildings and grounds by performing tasks such as: clean and sanitize restroom facilities, litter and garbage removal, vandalism repairs, painting, operate power equipment, power tools and assist with special events.

Mower Operator 

Minimum age 18 and Valid Driver’s License Assist with general park maintenance. Operate heavy equipment, tractors, large turf mowers and trim mowers. General mechanical service of mower equipment. Operate power equipment, power tools, landscape projects and assist with recycling program.

Pool Maintenance

Minimum age 18 and Valid Driver’s License Assist with general park maintenance of facilities, buildings, grounds, and the Surf ’n Slide Water Park. Perform tasks such as: vacuum water features utilizing special equipment, operate power equipment and power tools.

Campground Caretaker

Minimum age 18 and Valid Driver’s License Perform a variety of tasks related to a campground host. On-site residence, manage campground, complete reconciliation forms, communicate with campers and office staff, handle fees and bank deposits. Assist with general upkeep of the facility.

Ice Rink Maintenance

Minimum age 18 and Valid Driver’s License Assist with general park maintenance of facilities, buildings, grounds, and the Larson Recreation Center. Perform tasks such as: operate heavy equipment, power tools, ice re-surfacer, complete daily records, and general service of equipment.

Explorer’s Day Camp Lead Teacher

Minimum age 18 and Valid Driver’s License. Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor and Day Camp Supervisor, the Lead Teacher is responsible for the daily direction of site staff and program participants. The Day Camp Lead Teacher will plan, implement, lead and evaluate daily recreation activities for children ages 5 - 12.

Explorer’s Day Camp Leader

Minimum age 16 and Valid Driver’s License Under the direction of the Day Camp Supervisor and the Lead Teacher, the Day Camp Leader will help implement and lead daily recreational activities for children, ages 5 - 12.
