Famous Palettes - Part 1 Claude Monet

Tuesday, February 21, 2023

French artist Claude Monet was known for his soft, muted impressionist paintings, often repeating studies of the same subjects in series in in a range of seasons, changing canvases with the light or as his interest shifted. Using a somewhat limited palette of 5-6 colors, we will be creating a color chart based on his favorite palette and will paint a scene reminiscent of one of his famous waterlilies, grown in his own pond garden in Giverny. All materials are provided. Museum members eligible for discounts.
