In village cultures, people participate directly in live events within their small community and, in other ways, practice their arts in traditional ways. Our digital age maintains some of the old cultural features, of course, but we tend to withdraw further and further from activities that are based in the community. Transylvanian Hungarian village cultures are rich and varied … and villagers live, so to speak, in the moment when they sing and dance. A few video clips will provide fascinating samples of how music and dance work in the villages.

The museum hosts its annual membership drive "Feed the Mammoth" each holiday season on the Friday before Thanksgiving. The event is a celebration of the support received from museum members in the past year and a preview of exhibits and programs in the coming year made possible by the membership program.
Visit the Museum on Friday, November 17, for a festive family-friendly night of fun and food. Preview upcoming events, make crafts and take a picture with Santa. All proceeds raised during the course of the fundraiser benefit museum programs. Bring donations of non-perishable food to benefit the Moses Lake Food Bank.
