Golfers, sponsors needed for Moses Lake Firefighters Charity Golf Tournament

Firefighters Golf Tournament details

MOSES LAKE — Support a good cause and get involved with the Moses Lake Firefighters Charity Golf Tournament.

Golfers and sponsors are needed for the Saturday, Aug. 24 event at The Links at Moses Pointe. The tournament is a four-person scramble tailored to all skill levels. There are opportunities to win prizes and a luncheon is provided.

Proceeds go to the Firefighters Benevolent Fund to support community events such as Operation Warm to provide coats for children, and Firefighters4Kids, a toy and food Christmas program for children and families. Funds have also been used to help people affected by cancer and assist firefighters’ families coping with an injury or death, explained Jason Koziol, Benevolent Fund Chair.

Each year, the Firefighters hold multiple fundraisers and decided this year to organize one large fundraiser.

“That’s our goal, we want to continue this on as a major fundraiser for our Benevolent Fund,” Koziol said.

A tournament sponsorship costs $500 and comes with the sponsor’s name or company on a banner placed on the golf course and in the tournament brochure. A hole sponsorship costs $100 and features the sponsor’s name or company printed on a sign placed on the golf course.

Dixon Golf, the maker of biodegradable golf balls, contacted the firefighters on social media and asked to help sponsor the event. Dixon Golf will be at the tournament to assist with fundraising.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. The tournament starts at 10 a.m.
