“Interesting…” that single word immediately recalls the memory of Joe Rogers in the minds of his friends, family and students. A keen observer, Joe found many things in life… interesting.

Best known as a professor of Anthropology and Sociology, Joe Rogers taught generations of Big Bend Community College students to better understand the study of humans and human interactions. Perhaps only known by those closest to him, Joe was also a talented photographer, memorializing the inherent beauty of people, places and things in print and silkscreen.

Through this exhibition of Joe Roger’s artistic life’s work, we hope to see our world as Joe saw it: the potholes and water, the vast landscape, rock formations, people and details that make up the Columbia Basin he called home for over 40 years.

ADULT SWIM:
Alcohol Ink Tiles

It’s not a pigment of your imagination. You can use a variety of simple techniques to create wildly vibrant ink based art.

Adult Swim honors the public pool tradition of giving adults a time and space for themselves. Visit the Moses Lake Museum during select gallery receptions to enjoy a night of play for your inner child making simple crafts. Admission and craft activities are free. No-host wine bar courtesy of Camas Cove Cellars. All proceeds from wine tickets and general donations raised during the evening benefit the Family & Education Fund supporting free children’s and family programs and educational resources.
