The Moses Lake Police Department has recently been approved for an explorer post. The Moses Lake Police Department sponsors the post through Learning for Life. The explorers are a group of young male and female adults who are interested in law enforcement and serving the community of Moses Lake. The after school program is scheduled to begin this next week. The program is designed to teach young men and women about the criminal justice system, while promoting personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship and patriotism. The Moses Lake Police Department has initially selected 12 young adults to begin the program, although we are optimistic that the program will grow in the future. Corporal Tom Tufte and Sergeant Jeff Sursely have been appointed to serve as post advisers for the group.
