Fitness Area

The Fitness Area offers something for everyone of all fitness levels. Covering over 1,450 square feet, it offers weights, cardio, TRX System, strength machines, and Nexersys equipment. We also a have Youth Fitness Orientation (YFO), which introduces young pass holders ages 11 - 17 to the Fitness Area and rules, teaches them gym etiquette and protocol, proper machine/equipment use, and of course safety.

Fitness Area Age Requirements

  • Children 10 and under are not allowed to use equipment or be in the fitness area.
  • Ages 11 - 15 must be supervised by an adult when using equipment in the Fitness Area.
  • Ages 11-17 Must complete a Youth Fitness Orientation prior to using the fitness area or walking track. Youth Fitness Orientations will be held at 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the fitness area every Wednesday.

Fitness area rules

  • Re-rack your weights and return your equipment
  • Wipe down equipment after use
  • No dropping or slamming of weights, loud machine use, or excessive noise
  • No saving equipment and allow others to work in between sets
  • 30-minute time limit on cardio during peak times, or when people are waiting
  • No outside equipment (bands, chains, or attachments) unless approved
  • Gym bags or personal items must be stored in lockers or cubbies and off the floor
  • Unauthorized personal or group training is prohibited
  • Headphones are required for all personal listening devices
  • Shirts, appropriate workout attire, and athletic shoes required. Open-toed shoes and jeans are prohibited
  • No food or drink except water or sports drinks.**Not a complete list of Fitness Area rules.

Fitness center rules have been established to govern the use of the fitness area. All rules were established with patron safety and security in mind. It is the responsibility of the staff to always enforce these rules consistently and fairly.

Sign up for group exercise classes online Active Communities or at the LRC front desk. Signing up to attend group exercise classes is mandatory. You will not be able to attend the class if you are not registered.
